What I Wore: Christmas Party

Photobucket

This past weekend was Chris' work Christmas party. I have to say, it's one of my favorite things to do during the holiday season. Pretty much any excuse to get dressed up and head out with my hubs sans kiddo is always welcomed.

I found my dress at the Madewell event I attended awhile back. I tried it on on a whim and everyone loved it so much I couldn't help but buy it. I knew I would eventually find an excuse to wear it. Enter the annual Christmas party.

The pictures aren't terrific because the lighting wasn't great and we were running late - no time for a proper photo shoot. Also, please excuse my adorable photo bomber "sweeping" up in the background. Gagi (my mom) brought over an early Christmas present for him. Yes, his present was a child-size broom. He loves it.

I plan on wearing the dress again to our Christmas Eve church service but dressing it down a bit. I'm thinking a pair of black booties, tights, and possibly a black blazer or maybe a belt of some sort? I haven't really played around in my closet all that much yet so suggestions are totally welcome!

The party is held at a local Mexican restaurant and has been for the past 2 years. The food is super yummy and so are the margaritas! And yes, that's me wearing the centerpiece in the picture below. This had nothing to do with the margs. I promise I only had one.... and a 1/2. #lightweight

The DJ they have had the past few years has been pretty awesome but then again I've never really needed to be forced out onto a dance floor. This momma likes to shake her thang. They raffled off gift cards throughout the night and everyone in attendance went home with a $50 Target gift card. Woohoo! All in all, a great night!

The dress is gorgeous on you. And I think a blazer and tights would be great to dress it down.

That's too funny that he loves playing with his mini-broom! That's the kind of presents kids should love to play with--maybe later they'll like chores a little better! You could always hope...
and you look lovely!

Great dress! I can definitely see getting more mileage out of it with tights/flat boots. You look so good in it, and I love your hair too.
